Carla showed no signs of a neck injury that forced her to withdraw from last weeks Antwerp final, producing a stunning performance to upset the two time Wimbledon Champion. Carla is one of the form players on the tour at the moment and will look to draw upon all her experience when she comes up against Garbine on Thursday.
This will be the first career meeting between Carla and Garbine. It promises to be an interesting battle, these two know eachothers games extremely well so they will both know exactly what they need to do.
Garbine should have the edge in this matchup. The young Spaniard is playing terrific tennis at the moment and should posses a bit too much firepower for Carla to handle. Carla is certainly not without a chance, she has already beaten two powerful opponents this week: Camila Giorgi and Petra Kvitova. However Garbine presents a different challenge, Garbine is playing consistent aggressive tennis and will be extremely difficult to stop.
