Eugenie Bouchard has brushed aside a disappointing Angelique Kerber to become the first confirmed quarterfinalist at Roland Garros 2014.
Bouchard was dominant right from the first few points. The Canadian stepping inside the baseline and moving Kerber side to side before finishing her off with powerful winners. After just over 15 minutes Bouchard had raced away to a 5-0 lead. There was some late resistance from Kerber but it was all too late, Bouchard taking the set 6-1.
The second set was more of the same, Bouchard refusing to let up. The Canadian never gave Kerber a chance to find any kind of rhythm, continuing to step inside the baseline and dominate. Bouchard cruised to victory, taking the second set 6-2
