πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί (14) Daria Kasatkina vs. πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ Alison Van Uytvanck

Daria Kasatkina and Alison Van Uytvanck have both broken new ground at SW19, both will be competing in the second week for first time at Wimbledon. This is an interesting battle because of the extreme contrast in styles, the speed and all-court game of Kasatkina up against the powerful Belgian. It was Kasatkina who got the better of Van Uytvanck when they met a few weeks ago, but the Belgian will fancy her chances of an upset after a great week.

Daria Kasatkina of Russia in action during the third round at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships Grand Slam tournament

Daria Kasatkina has made her way through to the round of 16 at Wimbledon without dropping a set. Kasatkina eased through a fairly favourable early draw, beating Jana Fett and Yulia Putintseva. It was at the third round stage where Kasatkina overcame her greatest challenge, the Russian eliminated the 17th seeded Ashleigh Barty 7-5 6-3, a great victory for Kasatkina over an opponent that is far more comfortable on this surface.

Alison Van Uytvanck was one of the great surprises through the first week at Wimbledon. The Belgian started the event with an easy straight set win over Polona Hercog before causing a huge upset as she came from a set down to defeat defending champion: Garbine Muguruza. Van Uytvanck back-up the biggest win of her career impressively well as she defeated the 28th seeded Anett Kontaveit 6-2 6-3 to reach the second week of a major for the second time.

The only previous match between the pair took place on the grass of Eastbourne a few weeks ago, Kasatkina claimed a 5-7 6-4 6-1 win on that occasion.
