๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ (7) Sloane Stephens vs. ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Sara Sorribes Tormo

Sloane Stephens and Sara Sorribes Tormo renew hostilities when they collide at the second round stage in Paris on day 4 from Roland Garros. Stephens enters this match as a strong favourite but the 2018 runner-up will be wary of Sorribes Tormo after the pair played out an extremely tight match in Charleston earlier this year where the Spaniard pushed Stephens to her limits. Stephens ultimately won that match in straight sets but the match lasted over 2 and a half hours and could have gone either way.

I expect Stephens to make lighter work of Sorribes Tormo on this occasion. Stephens has all the weapons to win this match with relative ease, it all comes down to concentration and execution for the American. The clay courts in Paris are quite lively and that will help Stephens hit through the defense of Sorribes Tormo on a consistent basis. Stephens looks fit and focused heading into this match and should be tactically ready after their battle in Charleston earlier this year.

Prediction: Sloane Stephens to defeat Sara Sorribes Tormo in 2 sets
