Lesia Tsurenko vs Stefanie Voegele, Acapulco Final Prediction

Abierto Mexicano TELCEL, ??? Acapulco Final Prediction
? ?? (7) Lesia Tsurenko vs. ?? Stefanie Voegele

The clear edge seems to be with Tsurenko heading into Saturday’s Abierto Mexicano final. There are over 140 rankings places separating these two and a big gulf in experience at the later stages of tournaments. Voegele will be competing in her very first championship match, whilst Tsurenko already has 3 titles to her name. Interestingly, Tsurenko has a perfect 3-0 record in finals including her victory in last year’s Acapulco final.

From a match-up point of view, this seems to be a good match-up for Tsurenko. The Ukrainian holds a 4-1 record over Voegele, all four of those victories were in straight sets. It was Voegele who won their last match, a straight set win in Katowice in 2016, but that is seemingly an anomaly. Tsurenko’s consistency and great movement make her a very tough prospect for Voegele. I think Voegele will need to redline to have a chance in this match which will not be easy to execute in her very first final. Expect Tsurenko to win this pretty comfortably.

Prediction: Lesia Tsurenko to defeat Stefanie Voegele in 2 sets
