Caroline Wozniacki vs Agnieszka Radwanska, Toronto R3 Preview

Rogers Cup, ???? R3 Match Preview + Prediction
(6) ?? Caroline Wozniacki vs (10) ?? Agnieszka Radwanska

Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska will renew their rivalry on Thursday at the Rogers Cup where they will meet at the third round stage. Wozniacki has generally had the better of this match-up in recent times and has certainly been in better form over the last couple of months. However, Radwanska is a former champion at the Rogers Cup and has made a great start to her 2017 campaign with a couple of commanding victories. Matches between these two are always close, this one should be no different.

The 6th seeded Caroline Wozniacki received a bye into the second round in Toronto where she claimed a comfortable 6-3 6-0 win over Ekaterina Alexandrova. Agnieszka Radwanska began her campaign with an impressive 6-3 6-2 win over CoCo Vandeweghe before smashing Timea Babos 6-0 6-1. Both Wozniacki and Radwanska will enter this match with confidence, fresh and ready for another epic battle.

Wozniacki currently holds a 10-6 win/loss record over Radwanska. The Dane won their only previous match this year, a 7-5 6-3 win in Doha earlier this year. Radwanska has made an effort to be very aggressive in this match-up in recent times, more often than not it has been the undoing of the Pole. I suspect Wozniacki will again have the edge here, Wozniacki has generally been playing at a much higher level than Radwanska throughout the year. Radwanska has seemingly lost power in 2017 and that is not good in a match-up like this. Wozniacki will outlast Radwanska in the majority of long rallies and is therefore likely to win.

Prediction: Caroline Wozniacki to defeat Agnieszka Radwanska in 3 sets

  1. I’d say it’s impossible to predict but they are usually straight set matches so I’ll expect that here. Aga looks fresh and relaxed so I will go with Aga in straight sets. She needs to serve well and be aggressive. They’re both consistent but Aga has more variety. Her year has sucked because of injuries, and illness and not to mention the poor racquet but that looks to be behind her. If it does go 3 I’d say she’s still not 100% strong and wouldn’t be favored.

    • It’s hard to say if Aga is back yet… it’s just two matches. Wozniacki has clearly been the better player this year. Yes Aga has more variety that has not helped her in their recent matches, her variety doesn’t break down Wozniacki

  2. wtaaddictcom,

Who do you think wins in the match between:-

SEMI-FINALS 1 – Caroline Wozniacki vs Sloane Stephens

I think Wozniaki will win in 2 tight or easy sets. Everything depends on how Sloane adapts to Woz’s new powerful attacking game (unleashed against Pliskova yesterday!). Served 8 aces to 5 for Pliskova. Woz kinda bullied the bully (pliskova)! Woz can rollover stephens then.

If Sloane can play a near flawless game (keeping her serve and returning well) then she can take this match to a decider and LOSE!

But their past H2H matches indicate that this will be a one sided affair (ending in 2 sets)….ending in favor of the player on fire and in greater form ie., Wozniaki!

In the SEMI-FINALS 2- Can Elina Svitolina beat either Garcia or Halep. I think Svito can win in 2 sets against either of them.

wtaaddictcom, who do you got in today’s WTA and ATP matches?

    Expecting:-

    1) Roger Federer to beat Robin Haase in 2

    2) Alexander Zverev to beat Denis Shapovalov in 3. Zverev can win in 2 also. Zverev is very experienced for his 20 yrs of age and playing maturely with controlled aggression unlike Shapo who is going “Hit or Miss” like Jelena Ostapenko!lol Shapo might be tired from the many 3 tough setters that he has been playing for many months now! Only the home crowd is keeping him energized or propped up!lol

Going with Federer and Zverev ML and Over in Shapo match
    Are these bet winners?
