Wang has struggled with injury in recent times but is seemingly finding her best tennis right now and is a player on the rise. Wang’s pathway to the semi-finals in Taipei City has featured straight set wins over Risa Ozaki, Pauline Parmentier and Eugenie Bouchard. What has stood out has been Wang’s ability to take care of her own service games, broken just 4 times in her 3 matches this week.
Interestingly, it is Wang who has won the two previous matches between the pair, both on a hard court in 2015.
